CLASSIC GAMES
Long before CD based games became a fixture on store shelves, thousands of DOS based game programs were distributed as shareware. Small, fast and efficient, these programs were found on local bulletin boards, at schools and in disk compilations.

Sometime in the fall of 1998 several of us were remembering how much fun those old DOS games were. Then we began wondering where they had gone... none of us had any on our hard disks.

So we started a search and eventually found boxes of old diskettes loaded with games. Most of these date to the early 1980's but they still run just fine. When our teenagers got their hands on them it was like finding an old friend. They had all learned computers with these things.

If anyone is interested, we've ZIPPED up a batch (hundreds actually) of the old games and put them here for download. Download them as you wish.

We ZIPPED them alphabetically (with a specific few exceptions). Put them in a folder somewhere and
UNZIP them. If any files are missing for a particular program then look for it in the appropriate alphabetic ZIPs.

To our knowledge, these are all shareware products. We make no guarantees or claims about these programs. We did run the latest (Oct 1998) Norton Antivirus against them and nothing showed up.

COMMANDER KEEN:
The classic of classics may be the Commander Keen saga. These games are the direct ancestor of the mega hit DOOM. There were at least 6 Keen saga's and we have 4 of them. You can read all about the history on the ID SOFTWARE Vintage programs page.

TECH NOTES
All download packages are stored as industry standard PKZIP files. If you don't have an unziping utility you can download one from
PKWARE, Inc.

Most software developed by MMCC is written in the ANSI Standard PL/B language. The language fully supports both DOS and WINDOWS as well as most flavors of UNIX. MMCC uses the PL/B system sold by Sunbelt Computer Systems of Tyler Texas.
